Sylvia’s Trip to Uganda

Dear Friends,

I have returned home from a successful trip to Uganda where I went to take care of mission business that needed our personal attention. Russ could not go with me because he is still under medical treatment for mold poisoning. While I was gone, Russ spent a month with our son, David, and his family.

This trip was really hard on me because I am not well, and everything was harder than I expected. I have definitely dealt with stress, challenges, and VICTORIES! While I was in Uganda, I did the following things with the help of our employees, Penninah and Fred:

1) I moved us from a moldy apartment to a new apartment that is cleaner with better security. 2) I reactivated a dormant bank account, closed two other accounts, and transferred money from one bank to another, all of which was MUCH more difficult than you would think!

3) I supervised renovations of the mission house, which was much more extensive than we originally thought. Not only did we replace the roof, but we also had to repair three walls, replaster, repaint, replace the ceiling, and fix some of the electrical wiring. We also repaired the roof of the laundry building and reroofed the carport.
4) I spoke to the administration of Uganda Christian University about my future enrollment in their Master’s Degree program. 5) I also did a follow-up with the surgeon who operated on me last year and had some other medical tests done. So, praise the Lord, I accomplished all I went there to do, plus more!

It was difficult for Russ and I to be separated for the seven weeks I was in Uganda, but at least he was able to video chat with me twice a day. Loneliness is SO difficult. As missionaries we often make great sacrifices in many areas of our lives. I thank God for the prayers of our FBC family and our immediate family.

Yours for Uganda,
Russ & Sylvia Daniels
