Back in Uganda!
“The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in…” Psalm 121:8
Dear Friends,
The past two months have been challenging, but rewarding. We have been in the States on a medical furlough, but after our latest round of lab tests and doctors’ appointments, we were finally cleared to return to Uganda. We purchased our tickets and prepared to send out a prayer letter announcing our return to the field. But just three weeks before we were to travel, I came down with pneumonia! We held off sending the prayer letter because it was touch-and-go whether we would have to postpone our return. But after two rounds of antibiotics and using a nebulizer daily, I recovered sufficiently to make the trip. We left the States on April 30thand arrived in Uganda on May 1st! We praise God for helping us make it back!

My health is still not 100%, and I tire very easily, but we are thrilled to be back on the field! It has been great to see friends and those we work with again. We have several meetings scheduled with our national leaders and pastors to discuss ongoing trainings and church planting. Pastor Naboth Atusasire just returned from a grueling 13-day, 1,700-mile road trip around Uganda visiting 78 churches in remote villages, encouraging the pastors. In the next two months, we will be hosting two missionaries, one from Germany and one from Ukraine, with whom we partner to help train and support new church planters.
One specific need we have right now is to replace our old, worn-out car with a newer vehicle. Our old car is full of dust and mold, and no amount of cleaning has been able to decontaminate it. I can’t be exposed to mold as that is the cause of my current health problems. We need a clean vehicle that keeps out the dust and has a good air conditioner. Currently, we have been renting a car, but that is expensive. Contributions can be sent to the BBFI Mission Office marked “Russ Daniels Vehicle.” Thank you so much!
Yours in Uganda,
Russ & Sylvia Daniels
