Pastor Naboth Atusasire has started a new village ministry in his home area, about 45 minute’s drive out of Mbarara City. It all started after Pastor Naboth led a young lady to the Lord named Joan Ninsiima (whose name means “thanks”). Joan then brought her parents to Pastor Naboth, and he was able to lead them to Christ. Then Joan’s siblings got saved, and the whole family was baptized at the Ntare Bible Baptist Church in Mbarara. Each Sunday, Pastor Naboth would drive out to the village to get this family, bring them into Mbarara for church, and then drive them back.
As Pastor Naboth discipled this family, they began witnessing to their neighbors. Soon Pastor Naboth was invited to share the gospel with others in the village, and many men, women, and youth were led to Christ, including some notorious village drunkards! The number of believers grew to the point that Pastor Naboth could no longer fit them into his van to take them to church in Mbarara. So, he started holding an early Sunday morning service in his village home, and the attendance has now grown to 65.
As this ministry is developing into a new church plant, God has already provided over 100 plastic chairs. There is also an opportunity to buy a plot of land for $8,100 in a good location bordering the road where there is water and electricity. Once the land is purchased, another donor is prepared to help with the church building construction.
